Many people experience sex-related issues over the course of their lives. Sex therapy can help. It’s a type of talk therapy that can assist you in resolving problems, feeling more grounded in your sexuality, and experiencing a more fulfilling sex life.

As sex therapists, we specialize in a range of issues, including:

  • Concerns about sexual functioning
  • Low sexual desire or mismatched desire in relationships
  • Inability or difficulty achieving orgasm
  • Problems with sexual pain
  • Gender and sexual identity
  • Relationship orientation
  • Opening your relationship
  • Enhancing your sexual experience

Our clients have told us that sex therapy has helped them feel more positive and joyful about their sexuality, and has enhanced the eroticism and playfulness in their sexual connections.

We’re experienced working with LGBTQIA+ and heterosexual individuals and couples who are in monogamous, open, or ethically non-monogamous relationships. We’re kink- and BDSM-affirmative clinicians.

If you’re a couple, sex may be inextricably tangled with other aspects your relationship. We can help you balance sexual and relational needs. You may choose to work on other relationship issues in addition to working on sexual issues–or you may choose to focus only on enhancing your sexual relationship.

What happens in sex therapy?

Whether you’re an individual or couple, we’ll help you explore sexual issues, provide information, and suggest strategies. We’ll guide you in finding solutions so that your sex life and relationships are more satisfying.

It’s our job to help you feel comfortable, safe, and respected while exploring these issues. There are no exams, no nudity, and no sexual touching in the therapy room.

We may recommend books, videos, or podcasts. We’ll sometimes assign home exercises to help you work on issues outside of the therapy room. If you’re having a medical problem, we can recommend and collaborate with medical clinicians and physical therapists who specialize in sexual issues.
